Sarah began her career as a Tree Officer within Local Authorities, including Tunbridge Wells Borough Council and South Oxfordshire District Council. In these roles, she worked closely with planning departments, The Forestry Commission, parish councils, and the public, giving her a detailed understanding of how tree-related planning decisions are made.

She later moved into consultancy, specialising in:
